Men’s Results | Women’s Results
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The Vanderbilt men’s and women’s cross country teams wrapped-up weekend action at the Evansville Invitational. The women’s “B” squad placed third, while the men’s team placed fourth.
The women were led by a third place finish from freshman Sara Barron, who posted a time of 18:20.21 in the 5K. She was followed immediately by Megan Yohe, who placed fourth with a time of 18:33.18.
Kat Delaney finished 13th with a time of 19:36.81 and was followed closely by Clair Benjamin, who’s time of 19:49.78 was good for 16th.
Vanessa Valentine was the fifth Vanderbilt runner to cross the line, finishing 40th in 22:19.23.
On the men’s side, John Ewing was again the top finisher. His time of 26:32.98 in the 8K race was good for 15th. Commodores were also in 16th and 17th, as Alan Ash and Joel Jones followed Ewing across the line.
Ash posted a time of 26:50.83, while Jones finished in 26:54.12.
David McAdams placed 23rd with a time of 27:04.02, while Nick French wrapped-up the Vanderbilt scoring with a time of 27:18.54 that was good for 29th.
The women’s and men’s meets were won by Evansville and IUPUI, respectively.
Next up for Vanderbilt is the 2012 SEC Championships, which will be hosted by the Commodores at Nashville’s Percy Warner Park. The men’s and women’s races will both be run on Friday, October 26.
