NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A.J. Ogilvy scored 17 points and Vanderbilt beat Mississippi 71-61 Saturday, winning its third straight game.
Vanderbilt (15-8, 4-5 Southeastern Conference) has dominated the series and never trailed, winning for the 46th time in the past 51 games between both teams. The Commodores improved to 46-5 when playing Ole Miss at Memorial Gym.
The Rebels (13-10, 4-5) came in having won three straight, a streak that included a win over then-No. 24 Kentucky and their largest home SEC victory under coach Andy Kennedy in a 78-59 win over Auburn on Wednesday night. But the Rebels missed their first eight shots, hitting 8-of-33 (24.2) percent in the first half.
Jeffery Taylor had 14 points for Vanderbilt. Brad Tinsley had 12 and Lance Goulbourne added 11 off the bench.
Terrico White led Ole Miss with a career-high 23 points. David Huertas had 19.
