The Vanderbilt women’s golf team opens their spring season this Sunday through Tuesday at the UCF Challenge in Orlando, Fla., at the Eagle Creek Golf Club. The 54-hole event begins on Sunday with 8:30 a.m. tee times on Sunday.

This year’s field, which includes host UCF, Augusta, Campbell, East Carolina, Daytona State, Houston, Iowa State, Kentucky, Miami, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Florida, Texas, Tulane, Vanderbilt, Western Carolina, and Wisconsin, includes nine teams in the nation’s top 50 from fall competition.

“It’s been a really long time since I’ve felt this excited for the start of a season,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “This is a great group of young ladies that makes my job a lot of fun. I think we are all ready to get back into tournament action.”

The Commodores will send senior Jennifer Hahn, junior Kate Sborov, sophomores Cindy Ha and Alexandra Farnsworth, and freshman Courtney Zeng to compete this weekend in Orlando. Junior Antonia Scherer will compete for Vanderbilt as an individual.

Vanderbilt finished fourth in the 2015 UCF Challenge, with Hahn sharing medalist honors with Lauren Diaz-Yi of Virginia.

Eighteen holes will be played each day from Sunday through Tuesday at the par-72, 6,349-yard Eagle Creek Golf Club.
