“A much, much better day today,” said Vanderbilt head coach Greg Allen. “I’m really proud of how they bounced back. We’ve talked about how they’re not punching tickets to the finals until all 54 holes are complete. We still have a lot of work left but feel like we have a lot of momentum on our side. I really like that we’ll start on the back again and get the lava holes out of the way early. The girls still have a great attitude and a belief that we will get it done tomorrow.”
Martindale steadied the Commodores after a rough day one with her 72 on Friday. Vanderbilt also counted a 73 from freshman Alexandra Farnsworth, a 75 from freshman Cindy Ha, and a pair of 77’s from junior Jennifer Hahn and sophomore Antonia Scherer.
Southern California leads the tournament with a 17-over par, 585 (293-292), 11 shots better than second-place Stanford.
