NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 12/11-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball team faces its final challenge before SEC play begins this Sunday, as the Commodores battle Stonehill to conclude a five-game homestand. Tipoff against the Skyhawks is set for 2 p.m. and streams live on SEC Network+.

Starting Five
>> Vanderbilt enters Sunday’s game sporting a perfect record through the first 12 games of the 2025-26 season. The Commodores are coming off a 96-46 victory over Texas Southern on Dec. 20, in which Vanderbilt hit a school-record 18 3-point field goals. Senior Justine Pissott led the long-distance barrage with a career-high seven 3-pointers against the Lady Tigers. Sophomore Mikayla Blakes also extended her double-digit scoring streak to 31 games with a 23-point performance.

>> It is the first time since the 1995-96 campaign that the Dores have begun a season at 12-0. Overall, it is the third time in program history the Commodores have started a season 12-0 or better, joining the 1992-93 (17-0) and 1995-96 (14-0) teams.

>> The Dores conclude a five-game homestand that has expanded the entire month of December on Sunday against Stonehill. Vandy has defeated Virginia (81-68), South Florida (87-58), UAlbany (64-35) and Texas Southern (96-46) during its extended stay at Memorial Gym and has won all four games by an average of 30.2 points.

>> The Dores have won 27-straight nonconference home games dating back to the 2022-23 season. Vanderbilt is 40-3 inside Memorial Gym against non-league teams under head coach Shea Ralph. Overall, Vandy is 54-21 at home under Ralph’s direction.

>> Vanderbilt and Stonehill are meeting for the first time on the hardwood. The Commodores are the first-ranked team the Skyhawks will play at the NCAA Division I level.

Sunday’s contest airs live at 2 p.m. on SEC Network+, with Andrew Allegretta and Richard Hendrix on the call. Fans can listen to Jake Lyman locally on 94.9 The Fan and the Vanderbilt Commodores app outside of Nashville.

National Rankings
The Commodores came in at No. 12 in the Associated Press top 25 and No. 11 in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches poll this week. It marks the program’s highest ranking in either poll since the 2008-09 season.

It is Vanderbilt’s highest placement in the AP top 25 since Week 1 of the 2008-09 season, when the Dores were also ranked 12th.

Vandy’s No. 11 ranking in this week’s USA Today/WBCA poll is the program’s highest placement in the coaches’ poll since 2008-09, when the Commodores ended the season at No. 8 in the nation.

NET Ranking
Vanderbilt holds a NET ranking of 14 heading into Sunday’s contest. Vandy has collected three Quad 2 and three Quad 3 wins through the first 12 contests this season.

The Dores opened the season at No. 12 in the first NET rankings of the 2025-26 season. The NET is an evaluation tool used by the NCAA Selection Committee to determine seeding and bids.

Undefeated
Vanderbilt has won all 12 of its games this season, coming into Sunday’s contest against Stonehill. The Commodores are one of 12 undefeated teams remaining in NCAA Division I this season, and they are also one of five unbeaten SEC teams.

Nonconference Domination 
The Commodores are 61-19 against nonconference foes in the Ralph era. Vanderbilt has won 18 consecutive regular-season games against non-SEC teams heading into Sunday.

Showing Range
The Commodores made a school-record 18 3-point field goals in the win over Texas Southern on Dec. 20. Senior Justine Pissott made a personal-best seven shots from behind the arc, which ties her for fifth-most in school history.

Vanderbilt ranks seventh in the nation in 3-pointers made per game at 10.2, while its 36.9 percent 3-point field goal percentage is 29th-best in the country.

One of the Nation’s Best Scorers
Sophomore Mikayla Blakes heads into the Sunday ranking fifth nationally in scoring at 24.2 points per game, which also ranks as the second-best scoring average in the SEC this season. The 5-8 guard has scored 25-plus points in six games this season.

Blakes’ current 31-game double-digit scoring streak is the fourth-longest active streak in NCAA Division I and the longest active in the SEC.

Scouting the Skyhawks
Stonehill holds a 4-6 record and a NET of 312 coming into Memorial Gym. The Skyhawks are in their first season as an active NCAA Division I member after transitioning from NCAA Division II at the start of the 2022-23 campaign. Stonehill is in Year 25 under the direction of head coach Trisha Brown, who has won 437 games at the school.

Junior Brooke Paquette leads the Skyhawks in scoring at 13.4 points per game. Freshmen Ella Pelletier and Reese Roggenburk each put up 9.3 points per game, while the 6-2 Roggenburk averages a team-best 7.5 rebounds and has posted one double-double.

The Skyhawks average 60.7 points per game and give up 66.5 points. Stonehill is shooting 37.3 percent from the floor and 25.8 percent from behind the arc. Defensively, the Stonehill allows opponents to shoot 42.3 percent from the field and 34.4 percent beyond the 3-point line.
