NASHVILLE, Tenn. — No. 13 Vanderbilt heads to Wake Forest for a Sunday matinee against the Demon Deacons. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum with the contest airing on The CW.

POLL + NET TALK

  • Vandy is ranked 13th in the AP Poll and 12th in the Coaches. The highest rankings since the 2011-12 preseason poll. It’s Vandy’s best positioning in season since the 2009-10 season.
  • The No. 13 ranking in the AP Poll is tied for the Commodores’ best in-season mark since 1992-93
  • The Commodores are ranked eighth in the NET heading into Sunday.

EASY AS 1-2-3

  • Vanderbilt’s guards form a three-headed monster defensively as No. 1, 2 and 3 in the black and gold have combined for 78 steals through the first 11 games of the season.
  • Duke Miles paces the squad with 29 steals, while Tyler Tanner is just behind with 27. Frankie Collins adds 22 to the effort in his nine games played. All three rank in the top 20 nationally in steals per game.
  • Miles leads the team and SEC while ranking 14th nationally with 2.64 steals per game. Tanner sits 18th nationally at 2.45 and Collins 20th at 2.44.
  • All three guards rank in the top five of the SEC in steals and are first, second and third in steals per game. They are the only trio of teammates in the country to all rank top 50 in steals per game. Only one other program, Utah State, has multiple top 50 players.
  • As a team, Vanderbilt is averaging 10.4 steals per game to rank 17th in the country. The mark is on pace to challenge the school’s single-season record of 327 steals set in 1997-98.

11-0 COMMODORES

  • Vanderbilt is 11-0 for the first time since the 2007-08 season.
  • It is only the fourth time in the 124-year history of Vanderbilt basketball the Commodores have started the season 11-0.
  • 2007-08 stands as the best start in program history at 16-0.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Vanderbilt and Wake Forest meet for the first time in a decade when the Commodores visit the Demon Deacons Sunday.
  • Vandy leads the all-time series 6-4 and owns a 2-2 mark in Winston-Salem. This is the Dores’ first trip to Wake Forest since 2006.
