MEMPHIS, Tenn. – On Tuesday, it was announced that the Vanderbilt women’s basketball team will participate in the 2025 Hoops for St. Jude® Tip Off Classic, presented by Bad Boy Mowers, at the FedEx Forum on Oct. 27. The Commodores will take on Memphis at 5:30 p.m. for a nationally-televised exhibition contest on ESPNU.
Hoops for St. Jude® Tip Off Classic is a high-energy showcase of college basketball benefiting St. Jude® Children’s Research Hospital. The Vanderbilt vs. Memphis women’s basketball exhibition will be one of two games at the FedEx Forum, as the men’s game features another exhibition contest between Memphis and Arkansas. Both games of the Hoops for St. Jude® Tip Off Classic will air live on ESPNU on Oct. 27 starting at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 9, at noon at TicketMaster.com and at the FedExForum box office.
“The Tip Off Classic is more than a game. It’s a powerful expression of what can happen when a community unites to hoop for hope,” said Ike Anand, President and CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “It’s deeply meaningful to witness these incredible college programs take the court not just to compete, but to champion the mission of St. Jude. The energy in FedExForum, the pride of Memphis, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt, and the generosity of fans fuel the work St. Jude does for children with catastrophic diseases both here and around the world.”
The 2025 Hoops for St. Jude® Tip Off Classic marks the fourth major women’s basketball event that will feature Vanderbilt during the 2025-26 campaign. Vanderbilt opens the campaign in Paris, France, on Nov. 3 to take on California as part of the 2025 Oui-Play Paris. The Dores will also spend the Thanksgiving holiday in the Caribbean to participate in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam on Nov. 27-29. The Commodores will step out of SEC play on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to take on Michigan for the Coretta Scott King Classic.
