ESPN announced the television network designations and start times for the 2014 SEC/Big 12 Challenge Presented by Sonic on Tuesday, with the Commodores facing off against the Baylor Bears on Thursday, December 4, at 6 p.m. in a game that will be televised by ESPNU. This will be the 10th overall meeting between the two schools, with Vanderbilt holding an 8-1 all-time advantage in the series.
This is the second season that the SEC and the Big 12 Conference have met on the hardwood in an inter-conference event. All 10 of the Big 12’s teams and 10 of the SEC’s 14 member institutions participate in the annual event. Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State and Texas A&M will not play this year.
The last meeting between the Bears and Commodores came on December 8, 1984, in a game Vanderbilt won, 84-81, at Memorial Gym.
