NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt men’s basketball team will take on Texas Tech on Dec. 16 at Dickie’s Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, as part of the USLBM Coast to Coast Challenge, it was announced Monday.
Under the direction of fifth-year head coach Jerry Stackhouse, the Commodores are fresh off back-to-back NIT appearances. Senior Tyrin Lawrence is Vandy’s leading returning scorer at 13.1 points per game – including 19.2 points per game in postseason play a year ago.
Vanderbilt is 6-2 in the all-time series versus Texas Tech. The last time the two sides met was Dec. 20, 1979.
Other nonconference matchups will be announced later.
