NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Jordan Walker scored 19 of his game-high 21 points in the second half on Wednesday and Trey Jemison added a double-double as UAB defeated Vanderbilt men’s basketball 67-59 in the quarterfinals of the NIT at Memorial Gymnasium.
Jordan was also credited with seven rebounds and seven assists for the Blazers (28-9), while Jemison finished the night with 17 points and 12 rebounds. UAB—which shot 48.5 percent in the second half after trailing by three at the break—also got 14 points and seven rebounds from Eric Gaines.
Jordan Wright posted 15 points and eight rebounds for the Commodores (22-15), with Ezra Manjon supplying 15 points and four assists also. Quentin Millora-Brown and Emmanuel Ansong shared team-high honors with nine rebounds, and Tyrin Lawrence had eight points and seven rebounds as well.
Vandy shot 33.3 percent from the floor in the contest, including going 8 of 31 from 3-point range.
