This week’s news and notes surrounding the Vanderbilt Commodores:
Commodore Nation: Ralph Webb has already cemented his place in Vanderbilt history as the Commodores’ all-time leading rusher. But with another strong season in 2017, Webb could become the No. 2 rusher in SEC history. Check out the feature on Webb from the lastest issue of Commodore Nation.
The Tennessean: Adam Sparks spotlights Vanderbilt offensive lineman Bruno Reagan, who hails from a family of athletes. Bruno’s father, Mackel, was once a stud in martial arts and freestyle fighting. Bruno’s mother, Isabel Canedo Reagan, was a star volleyball player at Austin Peay. Now the younger Reagan is a big piece of the Dores’ offense.

247Sports: Congrats to Vanderbilt inside linebackers coach Chris Marve, who landed on 247Sports 30Under30 list as one of the top young coaches in college football. “He was a quality control coach on Derek Mason’s initial Vanderbilt staff and has since climbed the ranks, coaching Zach Cunningham to an All-SEC season and a second-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft,” the article reads.
Golfweek: Brentley Romine assesses the growth of Vanderbilt’s Theo Humphrey, a rising senior on the Commodores’ golf team. On Thursday, Humphrey advanced to the quarterfinals of the 117th U.S. Amateur with two match-play victories at Riviera Country Club. And Humphrey has come a long way at Vanderbilt. “As a freshman, he had the tendency to run hot when the birdies weren’t falling,” writes Romine. “But now days, it’s Humphrey’s game that is catching fire.”
Tennessee Titans: The Titans signed former Vanderbilt all-purpose star Darrius Sims on Thursday. Sims had previously attended the Titans’ rookie minicamp in May. Now, Sims is just the latest former Commodore to land in the NFL.
