Twitter: Vanderbilt football offered a fun shout-out to former Commodore baseball star Dansby Swanson, who purchased a new sound system for the Dores’ football weight room at the McGugin Center. Senior receiver C.J. Duncan led his teammates in a big thank-you before Swanson responded on Twitter.

VUCommodores.com: Vanderbilt golf coach Scott Limbaugh was honored with the GCAA’s Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips, an award given to the Division I Men’s Golf Head Coach of the Year. Limbaugh led the Dores to their first SEC Champoinship and first Final Four berth in program history in 2017. The coach joined Golf Channel in-studio on Tuesday to receive the award.
Tennessee Sports Writers Association: Former Vanderbilt All-American linebacker Zach Cunningham was named the 2016 Player of the Year this week. The most decorated football player in Commodore history was selected 57th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. Read here.
VUCommodores.com: Vanderbilt baseball’s Jeren Kendall and Kyle Wright earned All-America honors from Baseball America. Meanwhile, a trio of Vanderbilt women’s tennis stars — Sydney Campbell, Astra Sharma and Emily Smith — were likewise named All-Americans this week. Not to be outdone, track and field seniors Sarah Bell and Courtney Clayton became the first Vanderbilt teammates to earn All-America honors at NCAA outdoors since 2004.
D1Baseball.com: Aaron Fitt writes that Vanderbilt’s victory in the Clemson Regional was the success the Dores had hoped for one year after the tragic death of freshman pitcher Donny Everett. The Commodores did not look like themselves for much of 2017. “But as the season stretched into the second half, Vandy seemed to find the equilibrium it was looking for,” Fitt writes. Read here.
