The latest buzz surrounding the Vanderbilt Commodores:

VUCommodores.com: This week, 72 Vanderbilt student-athletes landed on the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll. The honorees hail from a number of Commodore programs, including baseball, golf, lacrosse, tennis and track & field.

Knoxville News Sentinel: Vanderbilt pitcher and Knoxville native Patrick Raby is finding success with USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team this summer. “From the get-go, I’ve always played the best competition because it was going to make us better, and I think Coach (Tim) Corbin has the same mindset at Vanderbilt,” Raby says. SEC Network: Vanderbilt football coach Derek Mason knows just where to eat in Nashville. In an SEC Network feature, Mason sits down with host Peter Burns and former Commodore quarterback Jordan Rodgers to enjoy some local barbecue and talk about the Dores’ expectations in 2017. Watch here.

Golf Coaches Association of America: Following an All-American sophomore season, Vanderbilt’s Patrick Martin landed on the All-Nicklaus Team, which recognizes the top 24 collegiate golfers in America. Check out the full team here.

The Tennessean: Vanderbilt golf alum Brandt Snedeker took the week off from the PGA Tour to support the Web.com Tour’s Nashville Golf Open, which benefits the Snedeker Foundation. The former Commodore star said the talent at the event serves as fuel for his own work ethic. “It makes you say, ‘I need to get back out there and get after it. These guys are coming to take my job away from me really quickly,'” said Snedeker.

VUCommodores.com: Longtime Vanderbilt athletics administrator — and former captain of the VU women’s basketball team — Candice Storey Lee earned national honors as one of 10 recipients of the minority scholarship award from the John McLendon Minority Scholarship Foundation. Honorees will attend the 2017 LEAD1 Association Institute at the University of Colorado-Boulder from July 17-19. Congrats, Candice!

VUCommodores.com: Former Vanderbilt All-American wide receiver and current Philadelphia Eagles star Jordan Matthews sat down on the latest Commodore Insider Podcast to preview his foundation’s charity basketball game this Saturday at Memorial Gym.
