Vanderbilt moves into sixth place at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Vanderbilt women’s golf is in sixth place at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate following a 1-over-par second round. Individual Sara Im continued to move up the leaderboard on Tuesday with a five-birdie, 1-under-par performance. She sits tied for fifth place with 18 holes remaining.

“I’m really proud of the bounce back we showed today,” said head coach Greg Allen. “I’m especially proud of the way Rudy was able to put yesterday’s round behind her and play a really good round today.”

Elizabeth Rudisill led the Commodores on Tuesday, shooting a 3-under-par 68 complete with four birdies. Angelina Tolentino, tied for 19th individually, carded an even-par round. Also tied for 19th, Lynn Lim had a 72 in the second round.

“I thought AT was very steady today and is gaining more and more confidence with each round we play,” said Allen. “Lynn is looking sharp and getting close to being back to playing great golf again. We need one more day tomorrow of locked in golf.”

Ava Merrill shot a 74 on Tuesday, and Tillie Claggett added a 79.

At 16-over par, Vanderbilt sits three strokes behind fifth-place Wake Forest. Texas leads the event at 1-under.
