ARLINGTON, Texas – Vanderbilt bowling enjoyed a high-scoring day on the lanes Saturday at the Prairie View A&M Invitational and is currently ranked second after two days in Arlington.
“We still have work to do, but we are striving to be a complete team and that requires all three days,” head coach John Williamson said. “We want to be an elite team and that requires showing up every day of the event. Today was a really encouraging day. We had contributions from everyone. The settee was engaged; we had good leadership and shot execution. We have a great opportunity to play our way into the championship bracket in the morning.”
Graduate student Isabel Allen ended the day atop the individual leaderboard after posting scores of 235, 268, 236, 267 and 233. Her 247.80 pins per game average was 11 pins more than the bowler in second place.
Junior Alyssa Ballard is in 13th place on the leaderboard with scores of 257, 232, 168, 224 and 233 for a 222.80 game average.
