VALPARAISO, IN—Vanderbilt’s most consistent day of the young season saw the Commodores slide up one spot on the leader board despite winning just three of its five matches.

The Commodores, in third place among the 14 teams, posted consistently high scores for the most part in defeating Arkansas State, McKendree and Alma while dropping a high scoring affair to team leading Wisconsin-Whitewater and Central Missouri. They will face Tulane Sunday in the final qualifying game but appear to have a solid lock on making the championship bracket.

“This was our most complete day of the year,” said Coach John Williamson. “There was much to like. We had some excellent performances; Robyn (Renslow) is second individually, Nicole (Mosesso) is eighth and others contributed a lot. Katie Stark was terrific (226-207-215) in her three games.”

Wisconsin-Whitewater (9-3) kept its grip on the top spot, knocking down 11,900 pins so far. Nebraska (9-3) is second at 11,740, just 25 pins ahead of Vanderbilt (9-3). Arkansas State is fourth (7-5), Central Missouri fifth (10-2).

Renslow averaged 211.17 with games of 208-246-225-223-170-195 and trails Jessica Cords of Alma by nine pins. Mosesso averaged 201.83 with five strong games.
