Dores Look Forward to 2021-22 Schedule

Vandy begins slate in October

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Eleven regular-season tournaments, including the annual Music City Classic, highlight the 2021-22 Vanderbilt bowling schedule announced Thursday.

The Commodores will make their debut Oct. 22 in New Orleans when they take part in the Colonial Lanes Classic hosted by Tulane. And while Vandy’s regular season will begin in Louisiana that’s the locale that marks the start of the postseason as well with the annual Southland Bowling League Tournament scheduled for March 25-27 in Harahan, Louisiana.

Vandy will also take trips to New York, Wisconsin, Ohio, Nevada, Texas and North Carolina over the course of the slate. The program’s Music City Classic in Smyrna is scheduled for March 18-20.

The Commodores, who won the 2021 SBL Tournament championship before falling to eventual national champion Nebraska in the NCAA Tournament, return standouts Samantha Gainor and Mabel Cummins for the 2021-22 season as well as three newcomers to the program. They’ll hope to advance to the 2022 NCAA Regionals in April and then the NCAA Championship (April 15-16) in Columbus, Ohio.
