Both the men’s and women’s golf teams host their only tournament of the season this weekend at the Mason Rudolph Championship beginning Friday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. The men will play on the South Course, while the women will tee it up on the North Course, which hosted the 2012 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship.
Fifty-four holes will be played on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with 18 holes played each day beginning at 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. Tee times will be fixed off of the number 1 and 10 tees.

Men’s Championship
The Field
Vanderbilt, Arkansas State, College of Charleston, Davidson, East Tennessee State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Rice, South Alabama, Tennessee Tech, Virginia.
The Course
Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course will be set up as a par-71, 7,100-yard set up.
Defending Champion
Middle Tennessee State is the defending champion. The Blue Raiders (844) defeated Ole Miss (845) in 2011 by one stroke. MTSU’s Hunter Green shot an eight-under, 205, to win medalist honors last season.
Who’s Competing For The Commodores
Junior Charlie Ewing, Sophomores Ben Fogler, Jordan Janico, and Hunter Stewart, and freshman Zach Jaworski will represent the Commodores in the team competition. Seniors Will Snipe and Ryan Thornton, sophomore Mills Rendell, and freshmen Spencer Ciesla, Carson Jacobs, and John Voetsch will compete as individuals.
Notes
This year’s field will see a different South Course this season, with the addition of Bermuda greens to the course. The renovation occurred this summer, a year following the move to Bermuda over on the North Course in the summer of 2011…This will be Vanderbilt head coach Scott Limbaugh’s first Mason Rudolph Championship as head coach….Jordan Janico, who sat out the 2011-12 season with a hip injury, won the five-round Mason Rudolph qualifier and is in the lineup this weekend…The Commodores welcome back Justin Emil, now the current coach of the Rice Owls, who served as an assistant coach with Vanderbilt from 2006 to 2011.

The Course
Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course will be set up as a par-72, 6,312.
Defending Champion
Last year’s Mason Rudolph Fall Preview was won by UCLA, who captured the team title over eventual national champion Alabama by six strokes. First-team All-American Lindy Duncan won medalist honors in a playoff over the Crimson Tide’s Jennifer Kirby.
Who’s Competing For The Commodores
Senior Lauren Stratton, junior Rene Sobolewski, sophomores Irina Gabasa and Kendall Martindale, and freshman Jenny Hahn will represent Vanderbilt. Freshman Morgan Ransom will compete as an individual.

First team All-American Lauren Stratton will play in her final Mason Rudolph Championship. The senior from Spring Hill, Tenn., grew up playing the South Course…Former Vanderbilt women’s coach Martha Richards is bringing her Texas team for the weekend…After the Bermuda Greens were installed in 2011, the scores at the Mason Rudolph skyrocketed; UCLA’s team score of 873 was 30 strokes worse than LSU’s winning total in 2010.
