Dores head to Las Vegas Showdown Sunday

The Vanderbilt women’s golf team returns to the course for their final fall tournament this Sunday through Tuesday at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Boulder City, Nev. The 19-team event will take place at the Boulder Creek Golf Club, with will be set up as a par-72, 6,301-yard format for the week.

The Commodores, who finished in a tie for first with host UNLV a year ago, will send senior Kate Sborov, junior Alexandra Farnsworth, sophomore Courtney Zeng, and freshmen Alison Armstrong and Abbey Carlson. Carlson is Vanderbilt’s leading scorer this season entering the tournament, averaging 73.82 strokes per round.

Vanderbilt will compete with Baylor, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Indiana, Long Beach State, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Texas, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, and the host Runnin’ Rebels.

Eighteen holes will be played each day, with tee times beginning at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday and 10 a.m. CT on Monday and Tuesday.
