Dores finish third at Arturo Barrios Invitational In Texas

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Commodores took third place on Saturday at the Arturo Barrios Invitational with 138 points in the field of 27 teams. The race took place on Texas A&M’s 6-kilometer Dale Watts course.

Vanderbilt finished ahead of fellow conference foes LSU, Texas A&M and Mississippi State in its last competition before the Southeastern Conference Championships. Florida finished the meet in first place with 46 points.

The Dores were led with top-20 finishes by Sara Tsai and Haley Walker. Tsai finished 13th with a time of 21:03.1. Walker came in at 20th with a time of 21:24.1. Tsai finished fifth among all SEC competitors.

Four more Commodores came in with top-50 times: Alena Sapienza-Wright finished 31st (21:42.6), Caroline Pietrzyk in 34th (21:43.2), Grace Jensen in 40th (21:50.2) and Kendall Derry in 45th (21:55.4).

Tsai and the Commodores will compete next at the SEC Championships on October 26 in Auburn, Ala.
