COLUMBIA, Mo. – Jason Edwards scored a game-high 20 points off the bench as Vanderbilt men’s basketball dropped its second straight contest in a 75-66 decision at Missouri on Saturday afternoon.
Vanderbilt (13-2, 1-2 SEC) had three players score in double figures. The Commodores rallied within one point with five minutes remaining, but Missouri closed the game with back-to-back fast breaks and a pair of free throws to extend its lead back to six. MJ Collins posted 13 points and grabbed five rebounds, while Chris Mañon added 10 points for Vandy. Devin McGlockton added a team-high 10 rebounds.
Missouri (13-3, 2-1 SEC) had three Tigers score in double figures as Mark Mitchell posted a team-high 19 points. Anthony Robinson II and Caleb Grill combined for 28 points off 8-of-13 from the field with Robinson adding eight assists. Josh Gray led Mizzou in rebounding with 11 boards. The Tigers registered a 7-0 run to close the game and outscored Vandy 28-24 in the paint.
Off the bench, the Dores outscored the Tigers 36-18, fueled by Edwards’ 20-point performance, the fourth time this season with at least 20 points.
The Commodores return to action on Wednesday night hosting South Carolina. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. on SEC Network.
