STARKVILLE, Miss. – No. 15 Vanderbilt men’s basketball bounced back in wire-to-wire fashion with an 88-56 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday at Humphrey Coliseum.

The victory was Vanderbilt’s largest in SEC play since 2022 and its best margin in a road conference game since drubbing the Bulldogs by 41 in 2013.

Four Commodores scored in double figures, led by Tyler Tanner with a game-high 24. The sophomore added five assists and five rebounds to the dominant effort. Duke Miles dropped 17 points and racked up a career-high seven steals, the most by a Commodore since 1998. Tyler Nickel chipped in a 13-point day and Devin McGlockton added 10. Jalen Washington finished with eight points and a team-leading eight rebounds.

Mississippi State (10-10, 2-5 SEC) was led by Jayden Epps with 14 points. He was the only Bulldog in double figures as the Commodores stifled Mississippi State to just 34.5 percent from the field.

Vanderbilt (17-3, 4-3 SEC) hit nine of its first 10 shots to race to a 22-4 advantage just 5:25 into the game. The lead never shrunk below double digits the rest of the way as the Dores opened a 51-30 lead at the break.

Vandy shot 53.8 percent from the field and forced 17 Mississippi State turnovers. The Dores scored 28 points off the miscues and owned a 23-11 edge in fastbreak points.
