NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s basketball team made its first appearance in the preseason Associated Press top 25 poll, as the publication put the Commodores at No. 19 to begin the 2025-26 campaign.
It is the first time that Vandy has been in the preseason AP top 25 poll since the 2012-13 season, when the Dores opened that year ranked No. 16. It is also the highest AP ranking for the Dores since Week 15 of the 2013-14 season, when Vanderbilt checked in at No. 16.
It is the third time that the Commodores have been featured in an AP top 25 poll under fifth-year head coach Shea Ralph. Vanderbilt was ranked for two weeks during last season, topping out at No. 23.
Vanderbilt was one of eight SEC teams featured in the 2025-26 preseason AP top 25. It is the second preseason prediction to give the Commodores a high mark this season, as Vandy came in at No. 7 in the 2025-26 preseason SEC media poll.
