NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Commodore bowling team, currently ranked No. 2 in the nation, travels to Greensboro, North Carolina, for the North Carolina A&T Stallings Invitational Friday through Sunday at AMF All-Star Lanes.
The tournament field includes Alabama A&M, Belmont Abbey, No. 15 Duquesne, Howard, No. 3 Jacksonville State, Lewis, No. 16 Mount St. Mary’s, No. 6 North Carolina A&T, Southern, No. 18 UMES and Vanderbilt.
Vandy had a weekend off following the team’s fourth-place finish at the Mid-Winter Invitational. The Dores held the No. 2 spot on the leaderboard through the first two days of competition, notching six top 25 wins and compiling a 7-2 won-loss record. Freshman Sydney Bohn made the all-tournament team, placing third individually and averaging 228.6 pins per game. Junior Victoria Varano also finished inside the top 10 and compiled a 221.4 game average.
Friday will consist of five sets of five Baker matches beginning at 8:55 a.m. CT. Teams will play a total of six traditional matches, five on Saturday and one on Sunday. The tournament will conclude with two best-of-seven Baker bracket matches.
