NASHVILLE, Tenn. — No. 19 Vanderbilt men’s basketball returns to Memorial Gymnasium for a Saturday matinee matchup against Texas A&M. Tipoff is set for noon on SEC Network.

JUICE IN THE JUNGLE
- Jalen Washington dropped a career-high 22 points in Vanderbilt’s 84-76 victory at Auburn.
- Washington was a picture of efficiency, hitting 7-of-8 shots from the floor, including a perfect 2-for-2 from three-point range. He added a 6-for-6 performance at the free throw line to power the win.
- The veteran big was also a pivotal part of a defensive effort which limited the Tigers to just 11-of-27 on layups.
TANNER ON WOODEN WATCH
- Sophomore Tyler Tanner was added to the Wooden Award Top 20 watch list, placing him among the front runners for National Player of the Year and All-America honors.
- Tanner has dropped 20 or more in each of the past three games and is averaging better than 22 points per game in SEC play this season.
- Tanner has scored in double figures in all 24 games this season and has elevated in SEC play, averaging 22.3 points and 5.9 assists.
- With 59 steals on the season, Tanner already ranks among the top 10 single seasons in program history.
- His 128 assists rank fifth by a sophomore in Vanderbilt history. The record is 172.
- With 453 points this season, Tanner ranks eighth among sophomore seasons in Vanderbilt history. His 18.9 ppg would rank third among Vandy sophomores behind Scotty Pippen Jr. and John Jenkins.
20 WINS AGAIN
- Vanderbilt notched its second consecutive 20-win season under Mark Byington. It’s the first time the Dores have reached the plateau in back-to-back seasons since 2010-11 and 2011-12.
- Byington is the first head coach to lead the Commodores to 20 wins in each of his first two seasons at the helm in program history.
- It’s just the ninth time the Dores have ever recorded back-to-back 20-win seasons.
SERIES HISTORY
- Vanderbilt and Texas A&M meet in a pivotal SEC matchup on Saturday with the Dores leading the all-time series 12-8.
- Vandy has won each of the past two meetings, including a buzzer beater at home in 2024 and a marathon victory in College Station last season.
