Dore trio at USA Team Bowling Trials

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Vanderbilt’s Josie Earnest, Brittni Hamilton and Amanda Halter are included in a field of some of the best amateur and professional bowlers in the country at the 2009 United States Bowling Congress Team USA Trials, which are being conducted Tuesday through Friday at Sunset Station Hotel and Casino’s Strike Zone Bowling Center.

In late October, five men and five women were selected to join Team USA in 2009, and the team will be completed with the addition of five men and five women from the Team USA Trials. The top three men and top three women will earn automatic spots, while the selection committee will add two men and two women.

Earnest is the 2008 NCAA Player of the Year and has enjoyed a strong fall campaign while leading the Commodores to three straight tournament titles.

Hamilton, a freshman, is on the Junior Gold USA Team and won the 2008 Alberta Crowe Award as the nation’s top high school bowler.

Halter has performed very well in her sophomore season, making the travel team and contributing significantly in the victories.
