Vanderbilt was rated sixth in the December poll of the National Ten Pin Coaches Association.

The Commodores, 39-18 on the season at the mid-year break, trail Nebraska, Fairleigh Dickinson, Arkansas State, Central Missouri and Sam Houston State.Wisconsin-Whitewater, Stephen F. Austin, Maryland-Eastern Shore and North Carolina A&T round out the Top 10.

Vanderbilt competed in four tournaments with its best finish being second at Maryland-Eastern Shore’s Hawk Classic. Among the fall highlights were a school record 1,236 team game at the New Jersey Jamboree and a 300 Baker game, the fourth in program history, at Valparaiso’s Crusader Classic.

The team has been in its mid-year off-season for semester exams and the upcoming holidays. It’s season resumes Jan. 16 at Arkansas State’s Mid-Winter Classic in Jonesboro.

CAMPING: Vanderbilt’s staff took advantage of its sparkling new campus facility to conduct a December camp, which attracted about half of its attendees from Tennessee and other campers from as far away as Wyoming.
