Davis, Vanderbilt’s all-time leader in assists and the 27th member of the Commodores’ 1,000-point club, has excelled both on and off the court during her time at Vanderbilt.
A four-year starter at point guard, Davis is the consummate senior leader on the program — constantly coaching and encouraging her fellow teammates. Davis was honored this season on the SEC Community Service Team.
She spearheaded a number of the team’s outreach projects, including the Building ‘Dores program, which encourages area youth to become more physically fit through an incentive-based activity schedule.
Davis is scheduled to graduate in May with a degree in communication studies, and is interested in exploring a career in broadcasting after her playing career is completed.
The Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award winner is selected based on personal qualities that define a complete student athlete. These areas of excellence are identified under the categories of classroom, character and community, as well as the candidate’s performance and team loyalty on the court.
The greater emphasis on the off-court achievements of the candidate reflects Lowe’s commitment to helping young people build successful careers and encouraging students to use their skills to make an impact in life.
