Today’s spotlight: Rachel Bell
Vanderbilt freshman Rachel Bell is today’s featured player on our Countdown to Tipoff package that will lead up to the Commodores’ season opener against Belmont on Nov. 14.
Bell is a local standout from Creek Wood High, where she was one of the most celebrated players in the program’s history. She was a Class AA Miss Basketball finalist in both her sophomore and senior seasons, and was named to the All-District team in each of her four seasons.
Bell, who averaged 24.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game as a senior, scored 38 points in state tournament quarterfinals, going 13-of-27 from the floor and also pulling down 10 rebounds.
