Today’s spotlight: Morgan Batey
Vanderbilt junior Morgan Batey is today’s featured player as we conclude our Countdown to Tipoff package. Batey and the Commodores open the season on Friday night, hosting in-town rival Belmont at 7 p.m. at Memorial Gym.
Batey has established herself as a rebounding machine and steady scorer in her first two seasons with the Commodores. She averaged a team-high 5.3 rebounds per game last season and reached double-figures in scoring in seven games.
She recorded a pair of double-doubles — the first coming on Feb. 16 against Mississippi State and another one just 11 days later against Florida.
Batey has seen action in 62 games since arriving at Vanderbilt, including making 24 starts.
