Today’s spotlight: Marqu’es Webb
Vanderbilt sophomore Marqu’es Webb is today’s featured player on our Countdown to Tipoff package that will lead up to the Commodores’ season opener against Belmont on Nov. 14.
Webb enters the season riding the momentum she gained after a strong freshman campaign when she averaged 7.1 points and four rebounds per game for the Commodores.
Webb, a former standout from Hoover (Ala.) High, led the Commodores in field-goal percentage last season at 54 percent. She saw action in all 31 games, including making 18 starts.
Webb capped her freshman season with an 18-point, eight-rebound performance against Arizona State in first-round NCAA Tournament loss on March 22.
