ORLANDO, FL—Sparked by the sub-par shooting of Jacqui Concolino, Vanderbilt’s women’s golf team pushed its way into a third place tie with Pepperdine as the UCF Challenge concluded Monday afternoon. Duke won the event and top-rated Georgia was second.

Playing in her hometown, the Commodore sophomore shot two-under 70 to finish second. Her 217 total was one better than Georgia’s Alina Lee. Duke’s Amanda Blumenherst ran away from the field by shooting 11-under par for the tourney. Concolino had three birdies on the backside against one bogey while adding a bogey on No. 3 with a birdie on the fifth.

Sixth-rated Vanderbilt also received Top 10 performances from Liebelei Lawrence, who shot even par Monday to finish in a tie for tenth, and Kristin Svicarovich, who added her second 75 and was alone in ninth position. Lawrence was sparked by five birdies on the day. Brooke Goodwin added an 81 as did Chris Brady, the nation’s No. 30 rated collegian.

The tournament was played from the Championship Tees of the 6,223 yard Orlando’s Grand Cypress Golf Club. Complete results can be found on golfstat.com.
