NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt women’s basketball will compete against North Carolina State and Northern Iowa in the Riviera bracket of the 2022 Women’s Cancun Challenge.
Vandy is one of 10 teams set to compete in Cancun, Mexico, at the Hard Rock Hotel. The Commodores are set to face NC State on at 3 p.m., Nov. 24 At 5:30 p.m. Nov. 25 the Commodores go up against Northern Iowa.
Vanderbilt has played the Wolfpack seven times, last meeting in the 2018–19 season. The Commodores have beaten them twice, including a neutral-site victory.
It will be the first meeting between Vanderbilt and Northern Iowa. However, the Commodores have faced several Missouri Valley Conference women’s basketball teams. Vandy boasts a 10-1 record against Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana State and Southern Illinois.

The Cancun Challenge is in its 17th year and has a history of drawing notable Power 5 teams and impactful mid-major programs.
