NASHVILLE (AP) — Carla Thomas scored 23 points and Vanderbilt (No. 20 ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) held Arkansas to its lowest point total of the season in a 78-43 victory Thursday night.
Ashley Earley had 15 points and 11 rebounds, her 10th double-double of the season, and Abi Ramsey added 11 points for Vanderbilt (18-6, 7-4 Southeastern Conference).
Sarah Pfeifer scored 13 points and Danielle Allen added 11 for Arkansas (15-9, 3-8).
Vanderbilt seized control with an early 27-6 run. Thomas finished the outburst with a putback with 3:20 remaining for a 31-10 lead.
Arkansas shot 6-for-27 from the field in the first half, missing all nine of its 3-point attempts, and trailed 37-14 at the break.
Earley’s basket three minutes into the second half gave Vanderbilt a 48-18 lead. Thomas scored on the next two possessions to extend the lead to 32 points.
Nicole Jules hit two free throws with 4:30 left to give Vanderbilt its biggest lead at 72-33.
