NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Six Commodores scored in double-figures as 14th-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 102-75, Monday night at Memorial Gymnasium.

Vanderbilt scored over 100 points in a 40-minute game for the first time since Nov. 26, 2004, against Rhode Island (W, 108-53).

Senior guard Caroline Williams scored a team-high 18 points. Five other Commodores — including freshman Amber Norton and redshirt Amy Malo — reached double-figures for the Dores.

For the Islanders, Nicole Duncan (23), Sarah Davidson (21) and Jillianne Duffey all posted career highs.

All 12 Commodores found their way onto the scoreboard. Williams had been the only Vanderbilt player shutout in Saturday’s rout of Dartmouth, but the Rockmart, Ga., native hit 4-of-5 from behind the arc to pace the Commodores.

Vanderbilt took advantage of size and crisp inside passing to own a 62-24 edge in the paint. In the post, senior Carla Thomas, junior Liz Sherwood, Malo and Norton all posted double-figures. Williams and sophomore Christina Wirth did most of their damage from the outside as Vanderbilt hit 6-of-7 three-pointers in the first half.
