With a new venue and a new format, the annual SEC basketball Media Days will have a different feel this season.
The two-day event, which begins on Tuesday, will also feature some new faces in regard to the players who will be representing Vanderbilt.
On the women’s side, head coach Melanie Balcomb will be joined by redshirt freshman Rebekah Dahlman and sophomore Marqu’es Webb for Tuesday’s session. The following day, Vanderbilt men’s head coach Kevin Stallings will be joined by sophomores Luke Kornet and Damian Jones.
None of the four players have previously attended Media Days.
The event — which will be held in Charlotte, N.C., this year instead of Birmingham, Ala. — will focus on the women’s game on Tuesday, and will then shift to the men on Wednesday. In the past, Media Days have been a combined event that featured both men and women on the same day.
While in Charlotte, the Vanderbilt players and head coaches will conduct an extensive series of interviews with both the print and broadcast media. Some of the interviews will be taped and will be used during Vanderbilt games throughout the season.
Coverage of the event on the SEC Network will air on Tuesday during SEC Now, 6-8 p.m. CT.
The following day, coverage of the men’s day will air during SEC Now, 8-10 p.m. ESPNU will also cover the men’s coaches visit to the Charlotte studios during their ESPNU Media Days Special at 2 p.m.
Vanderbilt fans can follow Media Day throughout the day on Tuesday on Twitter (@VandyWBB) and again on Wednesday (@VandyMBB).
