Commodores named to First Four vs. Wichita State

The Commodores were selected as an 11 seed in the South regional and will take on fellow #11 seed Wichita State in Dayton, Ohio, Tuesday night in a First Four match up.

Time and television for the Tuesday night game will be announced at a later date. The winner of the First Four would play Arizona in Providence, R.I., on Thursday.

Vanderbilt will make their 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the seventh of the Kevin Stallings’ era. The Commodores have played in 24 total games and have a record 10-14. Vanderbilt’s other appearances have been in 1965, 1974, 1988, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1997, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

In the Commodores’ last appearance in the tournament came in 2012, when Vanderbilt, as a number five seed, defeated Harvard and lost to Wisconsin in Albuquerque, N.M.
