Saturday’s Recap

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Commodores wrapped up last weekend’s tournament play with a third-place performance on Sunday at the Greater Ozark Invitational hosted by Central Missouri. The `Dores rolled two team games and three contests in best 4-of-7 Baker games.

Coach John Williamson’s bowlers defeated Fontbonne in the Baker game first round, before falling to the host school in the second game. The VU bowlers rallied, however, for a third-place performance against Minnesota Mankato in their final match of the day.

“We’re happy with our placement in such a competitive field,” noted Williamson, VU head coach, “but we know that we can do better. We’re going to work harder and work on finishing our opportunities in the future.”

Brittni Hamilton continued her strong play from the Arkansas State Mid-Winter Invitational last weekend, leading Vanderbilt with a 202.7 average over the past three days in Springfield.

The Commodores return to the lanes in the Morgan State Invitational in Baltimore on Feb. 14.
