Final Results
The Commodores finished the Yale Intercollegiate in fourth place with a final team total of 884 (296-296-292) at the Course at Yale in New Haven, Conn., on Sunday. Sophomore Cindy Ha was the team’s best finisher for the weekend, ending the tournament in 5th place with a final score of 217 (68-73-76).
Senior Jennifer Hahn carded the team’s best round of the day Sunday with a one-under, 70. Sophomore Alexandra Farnsworth posted her best round of the tournament with an even-par, 72, junior Kate Sborov finished her third round with a 75, while Ha and freshman Courtney Zeng each shot a 76 in their final rounds.
“The girls struggled early getting putts to drop,” said associate head coach Holly Clark. “We made our share of birdies, but we also made too many big numbers. It has been a great learning week and we need to take advantage of these growing opportunities now. We have a few days of solid practice ahead of us to get prepared for Stanford.”
Furman led wire-to-wire and won the tournament with a final score of 868 (290-288-290), five shots better than second-place Clemson.
Vanderbilt returns to the course October 18-20 at the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif.
