Commodores Defeat Carson-Newman in Exhibition Contest, 2-1 Two Vanderbilt freshmen scored goals to lead the Commodores to a 2-1 victory over Carson Newman in a scrimmage at Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville Saturday night. Joe Germanese (5-10, Fr., F) scored the first goal of the game in the first half for the Commodores before Carson Newman tied the game prior to halftime, 1-1. Jerry Yirenkyi (5-7, 160, Fr., F) scored the game winner with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game to give Vanderbilt the win. |
