T.J. Weyl

Graduate Assistant • Defense

T.J. Weyl enters his second year with the Vanderbilt coaching staff. He will serve as a defensive graduate assistant, working with defensive coordinator Jason Tarver and Commodore linebacker coaches.

Weyl came to the Vanderbilt staff from Princeton where he served as quality control assistant in 2017. That year, Princeton averaged 38.2 points, 483 total yards and 351 passing yards per game.

In 2016, Weyl started his coaching career as an offensive quality control at Monmouth, a member of the Big South Conference.

Weyl was a prep football captain and all-league performer at Noble & Greenough High School in Dedham, Mass., starting at linebacker and offensive guard.

A native of Medfield, Mass., Weyl graduated from Cornell University in upstate New York. He was a lacrosse player at Cornell, helping the Big Red to back-to-back NCAA Final Four appearances in 2009-10. He earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Cornell in 2012.

He will be working toward a master’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Vanderbilt.
