Franklin joined the Commodore staff as a graduate assistant in the spring of 2014 after completing an outstanding playing career at the University of Virginia. 

Franklin established herself as one of the most prolific scorers in school history during her career from 2011-14, including leading the team in scoring as a senior at 13.8 per game. She played in 131 career games, including making 122 starts. 

She compiled 1,619 career points, which 11th on the school’s all-time list, and ranks third in career 3-pointers with 193. Her 224 total steals are the ninth most in team history. She closed out her career in strong style, reaching double digits in scoring in her final 14 games. For the season, she scored 20 or more points in six games. 

Franklin was a First Team All-ACC selection as a junior, and was named to the ACC’s All-Freshmen team in 2011. 

Franklin has basketball in her bloodlines, with both of her parents having played at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
