NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt’s Tiffany Clarke has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week after narrowly missing a double-double in VU’s 75-74 comeback win at Quinnipiac last week.
A native of Duluth, Ga., Clarke matched her season-high with 14 points, nine boards, including four offensive and two blocks in the Commodores one-point victory over Quinnipiac on Dec. 10. Prior to that Clarke scored 12 points and pulled down six rebounds to go along with a pair of blocked shots in VU’s 79-73 overtime win over WKU on Dec. 6.
Clarke becomes the first Commodore to be awarded SEC Freshman of the Week honors since Hannah Tuomi garnered the award on Jan. 21, 2008 after posting her first career double-double against No. 2 Tennessee.
