Chaney Tabbed TSWA Volleyball Player of the Week

Junior Kamryn Chaney averaged four kills per set in two Commodore wins last week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt volleyball junior Kamryn Chaney is the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Volleyball Player of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday.

In wins over RV Western Kentucky and UC Irvine, Chaney led the Commodores with 28 kills, averaging four per set. At WKU, the outside matched her career best with six service aces. She also had 11 digs to go with 19 kills vs. the Anteaters, good for her first double-double of the season.

Chaney is ranked top 10 in the SEC in two stat categories. She’s third overall in aces per set (.53) and eighth in points per set (4.63).

Chaney and the Commodores begin SEC play with matches at No. 2 Texas and No. 13 Texas A&M Wednesday and Friday.
