NEW LOOK DORES

  • Head coach Mark Byington takes the helm at Vanderbilt after a 32-4 campaign and NCAA Tournament appearance at James Madison. In 11 seasons as a head coach, Byington is 220-137 and has produced eight consecutive winning seasons.
  • Vanderbilt’s 2024-25 roster features 13 new faces from a season ago. The Dores added 11 transfers and two freshmen to the roster. New, however, does not mean inexperienced as 355 of Vandy’s 369 career starts on the roster come from the 11 transfers.
  • Vanderbilt’s roster ranks eighth nationally and second in the SEC in minutes played from the 23-24 season. Vandy’s roster played a total of 8,307 minutes in 2023-24.
  • Five Dores played more than 25 minutes per game last season while two more Dores averaged better than 20 mpg last season.

DORES IN DEBUTS

  • Vanderbilt is 19-9 all-time in a head coach’s debut with the Commodores.
  • Byington will be making his third debut at the helm of a DI program and is 2-0, winning his previous openers at Georgia Southern and James Madison.

SERIES REWIND

  • The Commodores and Hawks are meeting for the first time on the hardwood. Vanderbilt is 6-1 all-time against current MEAC programs with the lone loss coming to Howard in 1901-02.
