Vanderbilt women's basketball senior earns her first selection to the SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Vanderbilt women’s basketball senior Jada Brown was named to the 2025-26 SEC Community Service Team, as announced by the league on Wednesday.

It is the first SEC Community Service Team selection for Brown. She has been a mainstay in the Nashville community during her time as a Commodore. The Bentonville, Arkansas, native has taken numerous hours out of schedule in season to spend time serving the community.

Brown has spent time enriching the young patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and was involved with Stella’s Summit at Vanderbilt University, an annual event for female student-athletes focusing on topics like mental health and professional development. Brown has also spent time volunteering at numerous basketball camps during the season, both in Nashville and abroad in Paris, France, teaching a new generation how to play the game.

In addition to her service in the community, Brown was selected as a recipient of the 2025-26 Kay Yow Servant Leader Award. The award recognizes student-athletes who exemplify the values of leadership, selflessness and service, embodying the Hall of Fame basketball coach Kay Yow. Brown has worn a Kay Yow Servant Leader patch on her jersey throughout the season.

The No. 5/5-ranked Vanderbilt women’s basketball team closes out the 2025-26 regular-season home slate on Thursday, as Vanderbilt welcomes No. 24/23 Alabama. Tipoff against the Crimson Tide is set for 6:30 p.m. CT and streams live on SEC Network+.
