Christine Luce also bowled well for the Commodores, posting a 168 average in day one action. On Saturday, the Commodores would take on three opponents. In the first matchup, the Dores rocked Praire View to capture the fifth win in the history of the program. The Commodores shut down their opponent by a score of 881-789. In the second showdown, the Commodores faced a team they had beaten twice before, but fell to Arkansas State by a tally of 1074-958. Vanderbilt’s score of 958 was the highest in the history of the program. Jennifer Redmond bowled a 215 for the Commodores while Therese Griner hurled a 209. Coach Williamson’s squad posted a team average of 812 for the tournament, which is over a 100 pin improvement from the Dores last outing at the Greater Ozarks Invitational. For the tournament, Simpson averaged a 183, while Luce and Redmond averaged 179 and 160 to lead the Dores. “The thing that is most impressive is the pin improvement from 2 weeks ago,”said Williamson. “We made big jumps this weekend.
