Blizzard cancels Saturday's play in Pennsylvania

Sunday’s Brackets Get Acrobat Reader

READING, PA—Mother Nature was Saturday’s winner at the Kutztown Invitatonal as a blizzard forced cancellation of the entire day’s play. The 22 teams expect to resume play Sunday morning using a bracket formed by Friday’s play.

That puts Vanderbilt as the No. 3 seed playing North Carolina A&T while the top two seeds — McKendree and Fairleigh Dickinson – square off on the other side of the first round. The winner of the Vandy match plays the loser of the McKendree-FDU game while that winner gets a pass into the title game. A complete bracket is attached.

There was no snow on the ground when Vanderbilt’s team arrived Thursday afternoon but the storm struck Friday afternoon and is expected to continue until Saturday night. It is possible up to 24 inches could accumulate. The Pennsylvania infrastructure has long dealt with big snows and has the ability to clear roadways quickly. The Commodore team is safely situated in the hotel.

Sunday’s matches will be best of seven Baker games and begin, weather permitting, about 7:25 Central time.
