KENOSHA, WI—Adel Wahner came off the bench to combine with Giselle Poss and Maria Bulanova to push Vanderbilt into Sunday’s championship bracket at the Warhawk Invitational. The Commodores finished the two days of Baker and traditional games in fourth place and square off first thing Sunday with their long-time rival Nebraska. The best of seven Baker will start at 8:00 a.m. CT.

Wahner sat out the first game of the day before being inserted into the fray and contributing games of 197-245-202-216, which fit nicely with Poss’ five powerful games to help produce a 3-2 won-loss mark for the day.

Wahner’s freshman classmate, Maria Bulanova, mirrored her effort with a slow start before fashioning games of 245-225-221 and 201. Poss ended the team games in seventh place individually with Bulanova 13th.

Vanderbilt defeated Aurora, Long Island and Fairleigh Dickinson while dropping games to Stephen F. Austin and host Wisconsin-Whitewater.

“Giselle was really consistent the entire day,” said Assistant Coach Josie Earnest, “and after the first game so was Maria. But I’m most proud of Adel today because when we put her in she was rock-solid the entire day. Our three freshmen (Bulanova, Wahner and Emily Rigney) need the experience and they will be pivitol down the line for us.”
