NASHVILLE, Tenn. — No. 13 Vanderbilt travels west to face Memphis in a Wednesday night showdown in FedExForum. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. on ESPN2.

10-0 COMMODORES

  • Vanderbilt is 10-0 for the first time since the 2007-08 season.
  • It is only the sixth time in the 124-year history of Vanderbilt basketball the Commodores have started the season 10-0.
  • 2007-08 stands as the best start in program history at 16-0. 

NICKEL FILLING THE BANK

  • Tyler Nickel dropped a career-high 30 points in the win over Central Arkansas.
  • Nickel also set career highs with 10 made field goals and eight made threes.
  • The senior is ripping the net from deep, hitting 47.3 percent of his three-point attempts to open the year. The mark is on pace to rank in Vanderbilt’s top 10 seasons all-time.
  • Nickel ranks 22nd nationally in three-point percentage and 17th in threes per game (3.5).
  • Nickel became the first Dore to hit eight threes in a game since current Grizzlies’ guard Scotty Pippen Jr.

  • Vandy is ranked 13th in the AP Poll and 12th in the Coaches. The highest rankings since the 2011-12 preseason poll. It’s Vandy’s best positioning in season since the 2009-10 season.
  • The No. 13 ranking in the AP Poll is tied for the Commodores’ best in-season mark since 1992-93.
  • The Commodores are ranked seventh in the NET heading into Wednesday.

  • Vanderbilt visits in-state foe Memphis for the 17th all-time meeting in the series. The rivalry is tied 8-8.
